What happened?
On September 27, 2024 Georgia, Virginia, West Virginia, and the Carolina’s felt the impact of Hurricane Helene. This historically impactful storm with damaging winds and flooding has left devastation throughout its path. Due to downed trees and lines, flooding, limited accessibility, and loss of power to a significant portion of Western North Carolina, a Segra service area has been, and continues to be impacted.
What should I do if my service is down?
If your service is currently down, the most efficient way to communicate is to email our Customer Care team at customercare@segra.com. Please include all pertinent information (including company name, contact name, telephone number, email, service(s) impacted and service address) and our team will assign a trouble ticket allowing your organization to follow the restoration process. Alternatively, you may call the Care team directly at 833-GO-SEGRA (833-467-3472).
What is Segra doing to fix my service?
If your power is currently down, that will affect your Segra communication services. Your Segra service may restore automatically when your power is restored. If you have opened a trouble ticket and your Segra service is restored alongside your power, please let us know so we can take your ticket out of our queue.
Segra fiber was damaged due to down power poles, we are working in conjunction with the power company to restore these connections when deemed accessible and safe to do so.
We are proactively driving our fiber routes and fixing any damage we find that is safe to fix. We are currently prioritizing first response, and healthcare facilities.
Our thoughts and concerns are with all of those affected by Helene and we appreciate your patience as we work to get your critical communication services restored as quickly and safely as possible in conjunction with local authorities.
